In 2016 this project started with a brief to design a new product and system to deliver a single-serve meal replacement or meal supplement in a convenient, mess-free format. The custom shaker was designed as an integrated form with a removable press cap. The flask’s wide base provides stability and increases volume to improve mixing.

The cap and pod were designed to nest together. The cap features three rings over-moulded in silicone, allowing it to seal the liquid inside without leakage. The cartridge pod is formed from bagasse fibre and lined with a fine PLA film making the only consumable waste element 100% recyclable and even home compostable.

The neck of the flask features an internal piercing cone which punctures the pod when pressed down. The powder contents fall through the cone's open structure and drop into the flask where it mixes with the liquid.
